Cape Town Furniture Week
Furniture is more than mere function — it’s a canvas for creative expression.
This year, during CTFW, Sofacompany collaborates with renowned local artist Renée Rossouw to present a live activation where art meets design. We are transforming our Paula 3-seater sofa into a unique functional artwork.
Unlike a traditional flat canvas, a sofa’s curves, seams, and textures create a dynamic three-dimensional surface that evolves with interaction. As Rossouw paints Paula live, she explores the relationship between colour, form, and function—challenging the boundaries between art and design. Wrapped in our signature Maya Cream bouclé, Paula’s sculptural form and Danish design heritage provide the perfect canvas for Rossouw’s bold, abstract compositions. The unique textured surfaces interact with light, adding depth and movement, while the ever-changing perspectives of the piece ensure that no two experiences of it are the same. The painted sofa becomes a unique artwork, shaped by both artistic vision and functional design.
This collaboration embodies the philosophy that furniture is more than just functional—it’s something we live with and connect to. It is sculptural art, designed to enrich and elevate the spaces it inhabits.
At Cape Town Furniture Week, we’re exploring Danish design as an unconventional yet perfect canvas for artistic exploration.
Book here to join us at 2pm on Friday 21st Feb as we blend the worlds of art and design.

We're authentically Danish
In a world of copies, choose the original.
Our designs are created by our design team in Denmark and brought to life by skilled upholsterers at our own factory in Vietnam. From the first sketch to the final stitch, we stay closely involved in the process to ensure every detail meets our standards for quality, comfort and design.
Every SOFACOMPANY piece carries this connection between Danish design and skilled craftsmanship. No unnecessary middlemen. No inflated mark-ups. Just thoughtful design, made with care and delivered directly to you.
Authentic Danish design. Direct to you.
OUR PASSION FOR FASHION + DESIGN
In 2012 our founders Christian and Cathrine Rudolph set out to challenge the furniture industry. Up until then, high-quality design at affordable prices was quite hard to come by. So were the design aesthetics and the quality of the materials used. Their idea was to offer high-quality design at fair prices, thus challenging the way we buy designer furniture.
Making the dream possible
Creating high-quality furniture at fair prices has always been at the heart of SOFACOMPANY. That’s why we keep a close eye on every step from the first sketch to the finished sofa and work directly with our own factory.
By keeping the process in our own hands and cutting out unnecessary middlemen, we can focus our resources where they matter: on good design, quality materials and lasting comfort.
It also gives us the flexibility to create furniture that works for real homes and real spaces. From different sizes and configurations to a wide choice of fabrics, our designs can be customised to suit your space, your style and the way you live.
Making every space feel like home
Sofas aren’t just for the home.
They have become an essential part of offices, hotels and public spaces, adding comfort and character while creating a warmer, more welcoming atmosphere.
But professional spaces are unique, and the right solution isn’t always one-size-fits-all. That’s where our design team comes in. From relaxed office lounges to welcoming hotel lobbies and shared spaces, we work with you to bring your vision to life through flexible configurations and customised solutions designed around your space and needs.
High-Quality Production & Skilled Craftsmanship
Great design deserves great craftsmanship. That’s why we work closely with skilled artisans at our own factory in Vietnam, where more than 1,000 local craftsmen bring our designs to life.
Our partnership with the Hoang family goes back to the early days of SOFACOMPANY. Their experience, dedication and understanding of furniture craftsmanship continue to play an important role in how we make our products today.
For us, making great furniture is also about taking responsibility for the community around us. We’re proud to support local initiatives, including schools and orphanages, and to contribute to the people and communities that are part of our journey.
Let customers speak for us
